This special E2E Psychedelic Sundays theme is Diligence and Discernment Upon the Medicine Path
It is a conversation and community evening you will want to be a part of if you are exploring a relationship with healing and integration with psychedelics. We will explore:
What psychedelic may be appropriate for your healing needs?
How to choose the medicine and what you can do to have a good experience (because the bad trip is a real thing, so due diligence is wise)
Why a relationship with the medicine is important and necessary?
How do we develop trust with the medicine and the practitioners?
How do we choose set & setting?
Oasis Heart will facilitate the event and will bring valuable information from the foundations of her life experience. As a Soul Energetics Coach, she holds sacred space for those wanting to heal and master their energy and vitality for increased quality of life. Her work with CPTSD and trauma integration is a collaborative and holistic approach that includes the mind, body, spiritual and environmental aspects and is at the leading edge of Life where the Soul meets science.
Our guest Paul Bridger is a Knowledge Keeper in our Calgary community and Ceremonialist. He will address the importance of Set & Setting for folks considering taking consciousness-altering substances. Here is a snapshop of Paul’s teachings
The set normally refers to mindset. This involves, at least, having to harness our conscious intentionality as we prepare for these kinds of experiences. How do we really understand our reason for doing this?
Setting usually refers to the physical and social/emotional context that is offered for participants to have their experiences, which are commonly many hours in duration. Where, and with whom, will I feel safe enough to be deeply vulnerable and exposed? There are nuanced considerations for every person to reflect upon to co-create the best conditions necessary to have optimal experiences.
Interestingly, in a traditional indigenous context, interested participants wouldn’t really have much say in what medicine(s) they were going to ingest. You see, they would already trust the knowledge, experience, and wisdom of the practitioner serving them. Likely, it would be a close relative, like an auntie, uncle, or grandparent who has studied and been mentored for years, often decades. The diagnosis, prognosis, and prescription would be provided by the practitioner. Here, in the West, however, not having that close and trustworthy relationship with a family member/practitioner, we need to exercise our diligence and discernment as we make our way toward any experience. Diligence in our willingness to investigate thoroughly by asking direct questions, and discernment to be able to tell the difference between what we are told and what is true. This process involves a strong connection with our innate and intuitive knowing.
How do you make these important decisions?
